297 H1N1 Deaths Reported In California

Sacramento, CA — A new state report shows that H1N1 deaths in California are on the rise.

The California Health Department says there have been 297 fatalities from swine flu in the state so far, up from 266 reported on Oct. 31.

The Department of Public Health says the virus is widespread in the state, and has caused 5,380 hospitalizations to date. The Health Department also says the arrival of the swine flu vaccine has been slower than expected, with only about 4.5 million doses shipped.
