San Andreas, CA — What could have been a serious child-vehicle accident Tuesday evening was avoided at Bullion Hill Drive and Gold Standard Court.

According to the CHP report 46 year old Denise Galante of Valley Springs was southbound on Bullion Hill Rd. only traveling at a speed of 3-5mph. Her four year old son, Nico Bertolozzi, was running behind the vehicle with the family’s puppy.

Ms. Galante became distracted by a horn honking on another vehicle. Her son then climbed onto the open driver’s window with his body hanging outside. She told her son to get off. The youngster fell off and under the 1993 VW Cabriolet.

Ms. Galante immediately stopped the vehicle and placed her son in the car driving him home. Her husband then called 911. Fire personnel and an American Legion ambulance crew treated the boy before he was transported to Mark Twain-St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was treated once again and released.
