Hwy 108 Runover Victim Dies

Jamestown, CA — The Highway Patrol is reporting the death of 51 year old Russell J. Ramirez of Jamestown.

Ramirez died at 8:50 this morning at Modesto Memorial Hospital of the injuries he suffered when he was run over by a 2005 Toyota driven by 44 year old Charles L. Johnson of Soulsbyville at approximately 3:40 this morning. Johnson was westbound traveling at a speed of 60mph when the accident occurred.

According to the C.H.P. report Ramirez departed the Rosa Linda Motel (Winking Lantern) in an intoxicated state. He then apparently fell asleep on the Hwy 108 pavement where he was hit by Johnson.

According to C.H.P. Officer Mike Remmel Ramirez was dressed in dark clothing.
