Marijuana Eradication Season Officially Underway

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – 15,771 marijuana plants were eradicated Friday in the Rose Creek area of Tuolumne County.

Sgt. Ken Diaz with the Sheriff’s Office says evidence on scene indicates that it was the work of a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization. The marijuana was on U.S. Forest Service land, and the bust was a joint effort between the Tuolumne Narcotics Team, the Forest Service and C.A.M.P.

The Sheriff’s Office estimates that the street value of the eradicated marijuana would be around $31.5 million.
