Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff Department’s Search and Rescue Team has suspended its search for a Stockton man missing since Sunday.

52 year old Steve Sid left Stockton to go camping with friends at Salt Springs Reservoir in the Moore’s Creek Campground near the Amador/Calaveras County line.

Sunday evening just before dark Sid went for a walk but failed to return to the campsite. His companions returned to Stockton and reported him missing to the Police Department. S.P.D. then contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Tuesday and Wednesday a search was conducted by SAR members on foot and assisted by K-9 units as well as a helicopter. The Amador County Sheriff’s Office has also conducted a search in that county. The search has been suspended at this time.

Sid is decribed as an Asian male, five feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 220-250 pounds with black-gray hair, a long pony tail and brown eyes. His clothing description is unknown at this time.
