100 Year Old Company Elects New President
Modesto, CA — J.S. West shareholders have elected Eric H. Benson to become the company’s new President.
Benson is the great grandson of J.S. West founder, James Stewart West. Benson joined the family owned and operated company in 1990 and has managed various portions of the company, specializing in propane.
Benson states, “I’ve always felt we stand on the shoulders of giants. Although I’m pleased and thankful for this designation, I know our success depends on our employees, customers and long term commitment of service.”
Benson was named Senior Vice President in 2006, and has played a key role in the company’s growth under President Gary West. West moves to Chairman of the Board and Bob Benson to Chairman Emeritus.
The company was founded in 1909 and is now managed by the third and fourth generations of West and Benson family members.
