Teen Sustains Minor Injuries In Calaveras High Accident

San Andreas, CA — 16-year-old Ashlee Chatfield sustained minor injuries after being struck by a car on the grounds of Calaveras High School Thursday morning.
The CHP says 54-year-old Daun Bothwell was traveling at a slow rate of speed and did not see Chatfield in the crosswalk because of the sun. Chatfield fell onto the hood of Bothwell’s vehicle and then hit the pavement. Bothwell immediately assisted Chatfield and called for help.
Chatfield was transported to Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital because of minor injuries to her feet. The accident was reported just after eight o’clock.
