Twomile Public Field Trip

Miwok Village, CA– The Stanislaus National Forest will be hosting a public field trip on the Mi-Wok Ranger District next week.  The Twomile Travel Analysis this Monday, September 27th, is intended to identify the road needs and evaluate opportunities for road construction, reconstruction and maintenance in the Twomile planning area which consists of 18,000 acres in the Clavey River watershed. The results of the analysis will help in providing needed access for the Twomile Ecological Restoration Project designed to restore forest conditions to prepare for the successful reintroduction of fire into the ecosystem.

Mi-Wok Ranger District Manager Ann Denton said, “It will be pretty much all day. We’ll be meeting up at the Miwok Ranger station up here at Highway 108 in Miwok Village at 9:00 am and should be back at the station at 4:30 pm. People should be prepared for a day in the woods, meaning they should wear boots, bring a hat, sunscreen, water and a sack lunch.”
