Roadwork On Highway 120, 108, 49 and 4
Sonora, CA – Caltrans road work will impact travelers on Mother Lode Highways this week.
As detailed here Caltrans is working on the Highway 108 Mono Way, Hess Avenue and Phoenix Lake Road ramps.
On Highway 108/120 crews continue to working on the shoulders. The area is also where the Yosemite Junction stoplight is being set up as reported here. Night crews in that area and from the Tulloch Road Crossover to Rushing Hill Lookout Road will begin Sunday at 9 PM and wrapped up Monday at 6 AM. They will continue the pavement work each night through Friday.
From Clarks Fork Road to Kennedy Meadows Road planned tree work continues to keep the shoulder closed through the summer.
In Groveland, on HWY 120 from Ferretti Road to Hopper Street, by the Mary Laveroni Community Park, long-term right shoulder work will continue. Crews are scheduled to work around the clock until July 19. Also on Highway 120 from Smiths Station Road to the Fire Station one-way traffic control for drainage cleaning and inspection will begin Monday at 7 AM and end at 1 PM every weekday.
On Highway 49 on Stockton Street and at Copello Drive in Angels Camp be aware of Caltrans crews replacing the pavement markers in those areas. They will be out Monday through Thursday between 8:30 AM and 4 PM.
On Highway 4 Caltrans crews continue with the concrete pour work from Upper Moran Road to the Big Trees Park Entrance. The work begins Monday at 6 AM and will wrap up at 6 PM and will continue through Friday. Traffic will be limited to one lane and cause delays of 10 minutes.
The two miles of HWY 4 between Upper Utica Powerhouse Road and Strawberry Hill Road will experience traffic limited to one lane for drainage work. The project is scheduled from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Wednesday.
Continuation of the road striping of 43 miles on HWY 4 from the Old Highway Connector to the Calaveras/Alpine County Line, expect a moving closure of the one lane to cause 10-minute delays. The work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Monday through Friday in Calaveras County, travelers can expect 10-minute delays on Highway 26 from Prindle Road to the Calaveras/Amador County Lane. The moving closure is to allow for road striping work that will affect the sidewalk, median, both shoulders, and the bike lane Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Also on HWY 26 from Gill Haven Dive two miles to the beginning of the passing lane one-way traffic control will allow crews to work on trees in the area. The tree work is scheduled for Tuesday from 9 AM to 3 PM. Another two mile section 13 miles down the road from the tree work on HWY 26 will be restricted to one lane for slope repair and cleaning all week from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Caltrans asks motorists to obey signage and flaggers while slowing down around crews and equipment in the cone zones.
