Adult Education Classes Continue

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– Sonora High School District’s adult education program will continue despite concerns of budget cuts.

Sonora High School District’s Superintendent Mike McCoy says, “In this community right now with such high unemployment, it is really mission critical that we have a high school completion program for adults. We’ve gone from 20-25 students a year completing their high school requirements to more than 80 last year.”

Because of California’s budget crisis, the Department of Education has allowed flexibility in some funding sources like adult education, so the money can be used for general fund purposes. Sonora Adult School will begin August 18th.
