Modrell Family Puts Up Reward

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – The family of Donna Modrell is putting up a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect/suspects responsible for launching rocks onto Hwy 108 near the Montezuma Junction.

Modrell suffered serious injuries Sunday evening after a rock went through her windshield and struck her in the face. She was air-lifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

According to her son, Rick Modrell, she had reconstructive surgery Tuesday and is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit.

“Everyday’s getting better,” says Rick. “She’s not out of the woods yet, but the doctors are pretty positive and optimistic about a full recovery from her injuries.”

The Modrell family hopes that the $2,000 reward will be extra incentive for someone to step forward with information. Contact the CHP Office in Jamestown if you have any details about the incident, 209-984-3944.

CHP Officer Mike Remmel says the large rock that went through the windshield has been sent to a crime lab in Ripon.
