Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Two Wanted Felons

Calaveras County, CA– This week Calaveras County authorities arrested two wanted felons.


The Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday at around 12:50 am, deputies including two from the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) , received a tip that 29-year-old wanted felon Daniel Cosmo Guisda of Avery was staying at a residence at 636 Williams Street in Murphys.


Upon seeing the deputies at the front door, Guida fled out the back entrance where he was apprehended by additional officers. He was taken into custody and transported to the Calaveras County Jail and is being held on a combined total bond of $116,250,00.


Guida’s five Calaveras County arrest warrants include the following charge: prohibited person possessing a firearm (felony), possession of stolen property (felony), threatening with a weapon (misdemeanor), criminal threats (felony), vandalism (felony), battery (misdemeanor), and assault with a deadly weapon (misdemeanor.)


A day before Guida was arrested, another wanted felon was taken into custody.


On Wednesday at around 4:45 pm, Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Special Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration in the Pizza Factory parking lot in Valley Springs. Deputies identified the passenger as wanted parolee-at-large 26-year-old Shawn James Holcomb of Stockton. Holcomb had an active CDC Parole warrant for his arrest.


He was arrested and transported to the County Jail, pending extradition to a CDC facility.
