Sponsored by:

Valley Springs, CA– Three people were arrested earlier this week after a traffic stop in Valley Springs.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Sunday, deputies pulled over a van on Highway 26 at Saint Andrews Road. They made contact with the driver, 41-year-old Jeannie Eastridge and passengers Paul Eastridge, 42, and Michael Langston, 18, all of Railroad Flat. Five children ages 3, 7, 13, 15 and 16, were also in the van.

While investigating the scene, Sheriff’s deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. They also noticed that Paul Eastridge was bleeding heavily from a head injury. Eastridge stated that he had just been the victim of a robbery in the Stockton area where he was struck over the head with a firearm. He added that nothing was stolen from him during the robbery.

During a search of the van, Sheriff’s deputies located and seized approximately 25 pounds of processed and packaged marijuana that was stored in a cardboard box in the cargo area.

Paul Eastridge, Jeannie Eastridge and Michael Langston were arrested for felony possession of marijuana for sales, felony child abuse, and  felony conspiracy to commit a crime.

All three suspects were booked into Calaveras County Jail and are being held in lieu of $161,250.00 bail. The children were turned over to the custody of Calaveras Child Protective Services.
