Mariposa County, CA — A fire that started near Highway 140 in the Sierra National Forest has grown to 1,000 acres.

The fire has also spread into the nearby Stanislaus National Forest. It was started Thursday by a motorhome that caught on fire near the Merced River Canyon. The fire has been heading in a northerly direction.
