Brown Proposes Job Creation Plan

Sponsored by:

Last week Governor Jerry Brown proposed a state plan to spur job creation.

The Governor discussed the plan as Tuesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

The three-part California Jobs First package offers over $1 billion a year in tax relief for businesses that create jobs in the state.

“Number one, we increase and make more usable job tax credit that has not really been used because of certain restrictions,” said Brown. “Number two, we provide a massive tax reduction for manufacturers who buy equipment by reducing the sales tax , and three we eliminate what is an outrageous and perverse tax incentive that slipped into the California law and just went into effect this year.”

The third part is in regards to the application of the ‘Mandatory Single Sales Factor’ (SSF) to all businesses in California. The governor believes it encourages multi-state businesses to create jobs out of state.

“Boosting job growth in California is a top priority, and this proposal is a critical step in making sure the state does everything it can to support local job creation,” said Brown. “Our state has added 116,000 jobs since January, but we must do more to build economic momentum.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7;47 and 8:47am.
