PG&E Rate Changes For 2011

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA– Starting this year, customers of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will be seeing a slight change in their energy bills.

“Residential customers will generally see a drop of almost 1 percent,” said PG&E Spokesperson Christine Cordner. “That percentage could go up or down depending on how much energy you use.”

Cordner says those residential customers who use relatively little power will experience a 3 percent increase in rates as mandated by state law, while those who use large amounts of electricity will pay 2.6 percent less.

She says neither set of customers will see a dramatic change in their monthly bills. Also those who use the least amount of power, will still pay far less than those who use the most.
