Sonora, CA — The Tip-A-Cop program raised $1,572 yesterday for the local Special Olympics team. Special Olympics Area Director, Dave DeCheney, organized the event help pay for lodging and transportation for the Olympics Athletes.

The California Highway Patrol led by Lt. Commander Scott Clamp participated in the Tip-A-Cop program. The event was at the Sonora Applebee’s, who donated 10% of the evening’s sales.

DeCheney says, “We would like to thank all who donated last night and inform everyone there is a bowling event at the Black Oak Casino on Saturday December 15th, 2012.” The bowling event is one of the first Special Olympic events in Tuolumne County. DeCheney invites everyone to come out and support the Tuolumne County athletes.
