Gay Therapy Reprieve?

Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA – The Associated Press reports a federal judge is considering whether to block a first-of-its kind California law that prohibits licensed therapists from counseling gay minors on how to become straight.

U.S. District Judge Kimberly Mueller held a 50-minute hearing on the issue Friday in Sacramento. Lawyers for four counselors who practice the so-called “reparative therapy” and two families who say their sons want the treatment asked the judge to block the ban. The AP says the judge is expected to issue a written ruling this week. The law signed by Governor Jerry Brown in October is set to take effect January 1st.
