CHP Releases More Info About Weekend Hwy 49/120 Crash

Sonora, CA — CHP officials are sharing more details about a minivan crash on Highway 49/120 near Chinese Camp over the weekend that briefly required a motorists’ detour.
As reported here, the incident occurred Saturday night around 9 o’clock near Shawmut Road and had a medi-vac helicopter on standby. CHP Sonora Unit officials state that there was one crash victim, 21-year-old Anton Goal of San Francisco, the driver and sole occupant of a black Nissan minivan.
According to the CHP, for undetermined reasons Goal allowed the van to leave the roadway, where it collided with an asphalt curb and a dirt embankment. Officials add that as his injuries were suspected to be minor he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
