Tuolumne Supervisors To Discuss Ongoing Emergency Response

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will talk about Kewin Mill Road repairs, fire resiliency and the tree mortality epidemic.

During today’s meeting the board will hear a presentation on CAL Fire’s State Responsibility Act funded by the state’s Tree Mortality Program. In December of 2016, the county received $2.4-million from the program to help remove dead and dying trees. The program period has now ended. Immediately after the presentation, the supervisors will vote on whether to end the local state of emergency declaration related to tree mortality.

In addition, there is time set aside for the supervisors to give staff further direction regarding fire safety and community resiliency.

The supervisors will also hear an update on emergency repairs of a culvert crossing on Kewin Mill Road. Today’s meeting starts at 9am.
