Calaveras Candidates Collecting Signatures

San Andreas, CA– In Calaveras County three Board of Supervisor seats and the District Attorney position are up for election in June.

Calaveras Election Coordinator Rebecca Andahl says the date to file papers is not until February 13th but several people have taken out petitions in-lieu to reduce the fee needed for candidacy.

For Calaveras County Board of Supervisors District 2, Michael Dell’Orto and Anita Paque have submitted. The incumbent, Steve Willensky, announced last year he will not seek re-election. District 2 represents Includes Mokelumne Hill, West Point, and Mountain Ranch.

For District 4, representing Angels Camp and Copperopolis, former Supervisor Russ Thomas has submitted. Tom Tryon is the incumbent, and has not indicated whether he will seek re-election. No one has submitted for District 1 representing the San Andreas and Valley Springs area yet. The incumbent is Gary Tofanelli.

For District Attorney. David Singer has submitted in-lieu papers.

Candidates may collect and submit signatures up until Feb. 23, to reduce the filing fee.
