Update: Fowler Murder Investigation

Sponsored by:

Valley Springs, CA — Calaveras County and Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Dive recovery teams will resume their SCUBA dive operation of a small pond.

Sgt. Chris Hewitt says, “A third dive operation has been planned for tomorrow at the same pond crews searched today. I can’t comment on what evidence they are looking for at this time.”

The divers will continue to search for any clues that could lead to the killer of eight year old Leila Fowler who was stabbed to death in her Rancho-Calaveras home on April 27th.

Also, the FBI dog search team from Washington D.C. continued searching the scene for possible blood trails today. Sheriff’s Officials say they don’t know how long this will take and there is no new information to release at this time.

Earlier today, the Sheriff’s Office revealed it has started to receive analysis on evidence sent to the DOJ crime lab, and officials say they continue to make progress in narrowing the scope in the investigation. There is still no suspect. The Sheriff’s Office remains optimistic that they will find the culprit.
