Bark For Life This Saturday In Tuolumne City

Sponsored by:

Bark For Life will take place in Tuolumne City this Saturday. It is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to help raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer.

Morgan Vaughn, Event Lead for Relay for Life, was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Bark For Life will take place rain or shine, this Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, at Tuolumne Veterans Memorial Park, in downtown Tuolumne.

The event is completely free to the public, but there is a registration fee for the canine companions. You can pre-register today at a discounted rate online at www.crowdrise.com/barkforlifeoftuolumne, or simply register on the day of the event.

According to Vaughn, “We hope to see a lot of people as almost everyone loves dogs and dogs will show loyalty and love in return. They are there for every birthday, every laugh, and every tear. They are silent, constant, companions when nothing is certain but a cancer diagnoses. Dogs are the unnoticed caregivers who give a special kind of support for cancer patients. Bark For Life is a way to pay tribute to our favorite canines and raise funds and awareness to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.”

There will be a canine costume contest, fun games, raffles, fundraisers, demonstrations, adoptable animals, and plenty of vendor booths

By supporting Bark For Life of Tuolumne County, the public will help raise funds for the 2019 Relay For Life of Tuolumne County, which will take place on Saturday May 18th at the Westside Pavilion in Tuolumne.

In 2018, Relay For Life of Tuolumne County raised over $40,000 and was able to give $4,000 directly back to our community by donating to the cancer support fund at our local hospital, providing gas cards to cancer patients to aid them with rides to treatment, procedures and appointments.
