Multiple Cone Zones Still Slowing Highway Travel Through Jamestown
Sonora, CA — Motorists’ patience continues to be tried on east and westbound Highway 49/108 approaching Jamestown due to a series of road projects generating hefty delays.
Caltrans crews set up on several stretches between Montezuma Junction and Jamestown are generating eastbound traffic stack ups east of the O’Byrnes Ferry Road traffic light and causing westbound back ups sometimes east of 5th Avenue, where a Tuolumne County road widening and intersection improvement project has K-rail barriers set up and detours in place due to a temporary Jamestown Road closure.
The traveling public should anticipate delays up to 15 minutes and sluggish traffic through tomorrow and work will also be ongoing in the overnight hours in some spots. Some of the current chores include patch striping. Some of the one-way traffic control areas are being guided by pilot vehicles.
