Motorcyclist Found Dead In Calaveras County

Mokelumne Hill, CA — It remains unclear when the incident actually occurred, but a Stockton man was found dead Sunday following a motorcycle crash in Mokelumne Hill.
At around 2:15pm the CHP was notified of the crash in the vicinity of Highway 26 and Sport Hill Road. Officers investigated and determined that 54-year-old Richi Pierce of Stockton was riding his 2001 Harley Davidson on Highway 26 when failed to negotiate a curve, drifted off the highway, and hit a tree. He was ejected from the bike and sustained fatal injuries. The CHP reports that it is unclear when the accident happened, as there were no witnesses, but it is believed to have been sometime between 10:30am-2pm. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
