Update: Forward Rate Stopped In Calaveras County Fire
Update at 3:05Â p.m.: What was first reported as a house fire in the Railroad Flat area of Calaveras County, CAL Fire spokesperson Lindy Shoff now reports as a vegetation fire.
Flames broke out in some grass behind a home in the 290 block of Hoffeditz Road, between Prussian Hill Road and Blossom Lane. The forward rate of spread has been stopped at an eighth of an acre, according to Shoff. All aircraft and incoming resources have been called off the scene. Shoff notes that crews will be mopping up for the next hour and what caused the fire is under investigation.
Original post at 2:51 p.m.: Railroad Flat, CA — If you heard Columbia aircraft fly overhead, they along with ground crews are heading to a residential structure fire in the Railroad Flat area of Calaveras County.
CAL Fire reports that a caller relayed that the side of their home was on fire in the 290 block of Hoffeditz Road, between Prussian Hill Road and Blossom Lane. No further details are known at this time. We will bring you more details as soon as more information comes into the news center.
