Update: Bus On Fire Near Highway 12
Update at 12:08pm: Fire personnel have contained a fire at the back of a bus parked off Highway 12 near Double Springs Road in Valley Springs.
According to CAL Fire officials, the blaze broke out in the rear of the vehicle where the engine is located and there was minimal fire exposure to the inside. Firefighters are now in the overhaul stages  — checking partitions and voids — for possible fire extension.
There were no children on the bus as it was out of service.
Original Post at 11:45 am: San Andreas, CA — CAL Fire officials are reporting three engines and a water tender are on the scene of a bus fire in the 3300 block of Highway 12 near Double Springs Road.
The call came out just a few minutes ago. Officials are reporting that good progress is being made and the fire is not currently threatening nearby vegetation. The blaze is described as partially involving the bus and located near the back.
Motorists in the area should take extra caution and slow down when approaching the incident scene due to responding units.
