CHIPS For Kids Toy Drive This Weekend

Sponsored by:

The CHiPs for Kids holiday toy drive, benefiting Foster Kids in the Mother Lode will take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Faustino Pulido, C.H.P. Officer and Spokesperson and Cori Allen, Deputy Director with Tuolumne County Child Welfare Services were both Thursday’s KVML “Newsmakers of the Day”.

The C.H.P works with the Tuolumne County Child Welfare Services Department to ensure children have toys for the holiday season.

The public is asked to bring a new and unwrapped toy this Friday from 10 AM through 4 PM to Les Schwab on Mono Way in Sonora. The second location is this Saturday from noon through 4 PM at Sierra Motors in Jamestown. The third and final location is at Sonora Ford in Sonora this Sunday from noon through 4 PM.

“The CHiPs for Kids program allows law enforcement to bring happiness and joy to children during the holiday season,” said Pulido. “Our goal is to continue our partnerships with the communities that we serve and protect, while spreading cheer to those who need it most”.

The highlight of the “CHiPs for Kids” program is that each toy donated to the C.H.P. is guaranteed to be given to a child in the Mother Lode. Toys are kept in the same county from which they are collected.
