Caltrans Plans, Beginning Feb. 12
Sonora, CA — Heads up, Mother Lode motorists: Caltrans has several storm and other seasonal repairs slated this week.
Due to storm delays overnight renovations at the Highway 120/James E. Roberts bridge will likely cause the span to be closed Sunday through Friday nights this week from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning. That means the bridge may only be open in the overnight this week on Saturday.
Jacksonville Road is the detour during these hours, which by Caltrans estimates, may increase motorists’ travel times by 20 minutes. Daytime access remains available under one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., with delays that generally run about ten minutes.
Slope repairs along Highway 120 is also likely to wreak ten-minute traffic waits every weekday in two spots: between Forest Road/Packard Canyon Road and the South Fork Tuolumne Bridge from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.; also at Hardin Flat from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
Daily crack seal operations on Highway 120 between Rushing Hill/Lookout Road and the end of the Highway 120 divided highway from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. may also bring momentary delays.
Calaveras Cone Zones
Every weekday as weather permits tree crews will once again be busy along two Calaveras County highways, creating five to ten-minute traffic impacts as they go. This work is scheduled as follows:
— On Highway 4, between Batten Road in Vallecito and Meko Drive near Camp Connell from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
— On Highway 26 in Valley Springs between Nove Way and Campo Seco Turnpike from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.; also on Highway 26 between Highway 49 in Mokelumne Hill and the Calaveras/Amador County Line from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Beginning Tuesday, utility workers are also slated to return to work along Highway 49 in Angels Camp between Gun Club and Mayo roads from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m., which is likely to cause ten-minute traffic stack ups.
