Update: CCWD Begins Emergency Repairs In Arnold
Update at 7:30 p.m.: CCWD crews are still working on the repairs to a main pipeline along Blagen Road in Arnold due to the stormy conditions creating delays. CCWD had hoped to have the repairs done by 10 p.m. Wednesday. Instead the district is alerting customers that they may experience low water pressure overnight into the morning with normal water restored sometime Thursday morning.
Update at 12:15pm: Worries about the Arnold water supply — due to the need for an emergency tie-over from a broken main along Blagen Road to the nearby Calaveras County Water District’s new Reach 3A Pipeline project now in progress — appear to be resolved for now.
According to CCWD spokesperson Joel Metzger, “The isolation valve that we were concerned might not hold, held just fine, and that allows us to keep the majority of Arnold completely in water service. The only impact that we are having at this point is Independence Hall — and that is a very minimal impact, as it is not being used today.”
Metzger adds, “As long as everything else goes smoothly, we should have minimal to no impacts to the community of Arnold while the emergency pipeline tie-on takes place throughout the rest of the day today.”
Last week’s storms caused Big Trees Creek in White Pines to flood resulting in damage to Blagen Road, which exposed a portion of an old water transmission pipeline serving Arnold. CCWD’s solution was to work a fix to tie the vulnerable line into the new pipeline project.

Update at 9:15am: Emergency pipeline repairs are underway in Arnold this morning. CCWD officials report that it will likely be known by around 10am if there will be a potentially large water outage in the Arnold area. We’ll pass along more information when it becomes avaiable.
Original story posted at 5:15pm on Tuesday — The Calaveras County Water District’s (CCWD) is alerting Arnold customers that an emergency pipeline repair could temporarily disrupt water flow.
As reported here, last week’s storms caused Big Trees Creek in White Pines to flood resulting in damage to Blagen Road, which exposed a portion of an old water transmission pipeline serving Arnold. CCWD reports it has tried to protect the pipeline from breaking, but worries the creek and debris could cause further damage threatening Arnold’s water supply. To shore up the problem, crews will be taking the section of the old pipeline out of service and instead connecting to the recently constructed Reach 3A water transmission main, according to CCWD. This could interrupt service to the Arnold area on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 10 p.m.

- Hazel Fischer School
- Cal Fire Station
- Ebbetts Pass Fire District Headquarters
- White Pines subdivision
