Supervisors Prepare For Juvenile Hall Opening

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors will vote on a list of actions leading up to the ribbon cutting for the Mother Lode Juvenile Detention Facility.

The ribbon is anticipated to be cut on January 5 at 11am. At tomorrow’s board meeting, the supervisors will vote on approving a contract with the Trinity Services Group to provide meal services at the facility. It is the same group that provides food to the Tuolumne County Jail. The annual cost is projected to range from $33,000 to $48,000, with the reimbursement via the school lunch program expected to be around $13,500.

The county will also vote on a $550,600 contract with California Forensic Medical Group to help provide health services for the juveniles. The group also provides similar services to jail inmates.

In other business on Tuesday, the Supervisors will need to schedule a new time to hear the appeal of the proposed Don Pedro Dollar General Store. The county had hoped to hold it February 7 at Don Pedro High School, but the gym will not be available due to a basketball game. The Supervisors will discuss multiple other potential dates throughout January and February.

Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am in the Board of Supervisors meeting room.
