Tree trimming, paving, bridge and utility work by Caltrans will slow traffic on several highways in the Mother Lode next week with delays up to 15 minutes in some areas.

In Tuolumne County, on several stretches of Highway 108 tree work will bring flaggers directing one-way traffic control from Soulsbyville to Clarks Fork roads. All of the trimming will be done during the day.

Caltrans provides this schedule for Highway 108:

  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-108 from Soulsbyville Road to Strawberry East for tree work beginning Monday, August 8, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-108 from Cascade Creek Road to Mill Creek Road for drainage work beginning Monday, August 8, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-108 from Donnell Rest Area Entrance to Clarks Fork Road for shoulder work beginning Wednesday, August 10, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Along Highway 120 all next week from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be one-way traffic control as crews will be cutting trees from Old Priest Grade Road to Yosemite National Park. Additionally, nearly round-the-clock on the highway through the end of September crews work on the Tuolumne River bridge renovation.

Motorists could face 10 minute delays on both highways.

In Calaveras County, motorists could face 10 minute delays as overnight paving work continues on Highway 12 between Cedar Street and Highway 49 beginning Sunday night (August 7) and ending Friday night (August 12). Hours of operation will be from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Caltrans notes that crews will also be doing some utility work on the right shoulder of the highway from Double Springs Road to Central Hill Road near Valley Springs beginning Wednesday, August 10 through Friday, August 12, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Similar work continues on Highway 26 between Savage Way and Paloma Road and delays could be up to 15 minutes. Caltrans provides this schedule:

  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-26 from Savage Way to Paloma Road for paving operations beginning on Sunday, August 7, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound SR-26 from Vista Del Lago Drive to St. Andrews Road in Valley Springs for drainage work beginning Monday, August 8, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Various road constructions will take place all next week (August 8 – 12) on highway 49 from San Antonio Creek to Highway 12 in San Andreas. The work will begin on Monday and end on Friday. Hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Caltrans offers this schedule:

  • One-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-49 from San Antonio Creek to Carol Kennedy Drive for shoulder work beginning Monday, August 8, 2016, through Tuesday, August 9, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control on northbound and southbound SR-49 from Cement Plant Road to Magers Way for shoulder work beginning Wednesday, August 10, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

The left and right shoulders of northbound and southbound SR-49 will close from Lumber Avenue to SR-12 for utility work beginning Monday, August 8, 2016, through Friday, August 12, 2016, from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Travelers can expect 5-10 minute delays.

Caltrans suggest commuters take alternate routes whenever possible.
