Fatal ATV Crash In Calaveras County

Calaveras County, CA — The CHP reports that a Mokelumne Hill man died in an ATV accident on Jesus Maria Road.
It happened at 5:30pm Monday near the intersection of West Baker Riley Way. The unidentified 65-year-old male was riding a 2005 Arctic Cat. For an unknown reason the man turned the vehicle off the road and collided in a driveway with a parked truck. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected, and later pronounced dead by arriving emergency officials. The name of the rider is being withheld because family members are still being notified.
The CHP reports that alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the crash.
