Caltrans Work This Week Begins Sunday

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Weekend motorists should plan for more overnight work in Calaveras County beginning Sunday. Here is the scoop of what Caltrans plans this week…

Overnight cone zones this week along Highways 12 and 26 setting up Sunday may bring up to ten-minute traffic delays. Along Highway 12 between Cedar Street and Highway 49, grinding operations will run through Friday morning with nightly hours from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.; on Highway 26 the work zone is between Savage Way and Paloma Road.

Tree work continues in Tuolumne County. On east and westbound Highway 120 from Old Priest Grade Road to the west boundary of Yosemite National Park, slated hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. during which motorists should expect ten-minute delays. Similar work is scheduled with the same likely impacts along Highway 108 between Soulsbyville Road and Strawberry East.

Too, shoulder work along Highway 108 every weekday may cause brief delays between Sonora Snow Park and Mill Creek Road.

Calaveras Daytime Cone Zones

On Highway 12, Tuesday and Wednesday only, a utility crew will be working between just west and east of Burson Road, likely to generate ten-minute waits from 7 a.m until 5 p.m.

Expect more delays of up to ten minutes at a time along Highway 26, every weekday in a few areas. These include: from Quail Oaks Road to Gold Creek Drive during highway construction from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.; and between Prindle Road and just west of Happy Valley Road as drainage work is underway from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

On Highway 4, grinding and paving from Black Springs Road to Ganns Meadow Drive is slated Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., which may cause brief traffic hiccups.

Along Highway 49, every weekday, utility work between California Street and Angels Road sets up from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. that may generate short delays; as will work Monday through Wednesday between Lee Lane and Dogtown Road from 7 to 10 a.m.
