Fire Destroys A Historic Angels Camp Home

Angels Camp, CA – Fire officials are actively investigating what ignited a structure fire that ripped through a historic home along Highway 49 in Angels Camp.

The fire broke out around 2:31a.m. Thursday on the 400 block of S. Main Street in the downtown area. When fire resources arrived on the scene, the single family house was 75 percent engulfed in flames. Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby vegetation. All the residents in the home made it out safely. The home is a total loss, according to Angels Camp Fire Department officials.

Resources that responded to the blaze included units from the Angels Camp Fire Department, Altaville Melones Fire Protection District, Murphys Fire Protection District, San Andreas Fire Protection District, CALFIRE, and Calaveras Consolidated Fire Protection District.
