Pinecrest, CA — After a fantastic season, Dodge Ridge is calling it quits a bit sooner than anticipated as skier have just this weekend left to hit the slopes there.

Resort officials had planned to shut down the ski runs on April 10, but have now pushed that date up to tomorrow, Sunday, April 3, at the end of the day — thanks to Mother Nature.  Dodge Ridge Director of Marketing and Sales Department Jeff Hauff explains, “The weather is turning out to be a whole lot warmer than we expected it to be, about 10 to 20 degrees above normal temperatures and then with rain in the forecast for the following weekend, we wanted to end the year on a high.”

It is the closing a fantastic year, according to Hauff who boast, “We received 360 inches of snow for the season that’s over 30 feet of snowfall…We opened early prior to Thanksgiving, that’s always amazing, we’ve been smiling for four months straight.  It’s great to have everything back on track.” Hauff is referring to the four-year drought that brought some of the worst ski seasons to the region with some of those lasting only about a month.

As reported this week, Bear Valley still plans to end its season on April 10.  It too, touts a great run with record-breaking attendance this year.
