Caltrans Work Plans Include Weekend Work

Sponsored by:

Stockton, CA – Weather-permitting, at least three Mother Lode highways will be busy with Caltrans road projects scheduled between this and next weekend.

In Calaveras County, today, weather-permitting, and then daily through next Saturday, Caltrans has slated tree trimming operations for Highway 26 between Campo Seco Turnpike and Ridge Road that may bring brief traffic delays from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Motorists should anticipate up to 15-minute traffic interruptions as tree crews continue to toil today (again, if the weather allows), and then again Monday through Sunday along Highway 26 between Happy Valley and Lower Dorray roads from 7:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m.

In Tuolumne County, Tuesday only, along Highway 108, between Sugar Pine and Chief Fuller roads, a utility crew will be working 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Expect ten-minute delays then.

On Saturday, for the 31st Annual Orient Express Run, Caltrans will conduct a special full highway closure on Highway 120 for just one hour – from 10 until 11 a.m. – between Simms Road and Highway 49.

Maintenance shoulder work on Highway 132 continues Tuesday through Friday between the Stanislaus/Tuolumne County Line and Highway 49/Coulterville from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., and is likely to generate five-minute delays.

Motorists will need to plan ahead of a potentially major traffic disruption when three days of evening-into-early-morning repairs at the Lake Tulloch Bridge on O’Byrnes Ferry Road will cause its temporary but complete closure for 12 hours at a time.

The dates for this scheduled work are Tuesday, Feb. 9, through Thursday, Feb. 11. From 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. on those dates, Sierra Conservation Center crews will be replacing a water pump at the bridge. During that time the bridge is scheduled to be closed to all traffic — even emergency vehicles. It will be open from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. however.
