First Weekend Of October Events

There are several events the first weekend of October including the Twain Harte Area Chamber of Commerce celebrating Oktoberfest. This will be the 10th annual Pints in the Pines at Eproson Park in Twain Harte with craft and food vendors and live music both Saturday and Sunday. Also in Twain Harte the Twain Harte Horsemen are hosting a Family Play day with six speed events and four speed divisions. Details are here.

The first ever Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge Car Show this Saturday features everything with wheels. Sponsored by the Woman of the Moose Chapter 1714, the event is to benefit the many local charities and non-profit organizations that they support throughout the year.

Friends of the Animal Community (FOAC) are having a huge community yard sale this Saturday. The proceeds benefit animals who are homeless and in need of medical attention. Over 300 Brand new horse, dog, and cat, items donated with many community members with their own booth and items. Details are here.

P.E.O Chapter LH will have a booth at the Open Air Flea Market on Saturday at the Mono Village Shopping Center. The organization celebrates the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, awards, and loans.

Go and support West Point at their Lumberjack Day. This logging celebration is in its 41st year. This year’s theme is “Let Freedom Ring!” The Ladies of the VFW #832 are the Grand Marshals this year and as always the event will bring fun, family, food, fast cars, familiar faces, handmade finery, floats, music and sawdust in the logging competition. Railtown 1897 is celebrating Autumn with Special Apple Harvest Activities.

The Tuolumne County Master Gardeners are holding their Open Garden Day. This month talks include: Dealing with Invasive Plants, Sharpening and Care of Garden Tools, and Putting the Vegetable Garden to Bed. The event listing, location and details are here.
