Update: High School Football Venue Changes
Update at 12:15pm: Due to the increased activity of the Butte Fire, the Bret Harte High School football game against Escalon has now been postponed until Monday evening, in Escalon. The decision was based on the increased evacuation advisories and warnings related to the fire. Sonora High School is still scheduled to play tonight at Hilmar, Calaveras High at Modesto Christian and Summerville High at Bradshaw Christian.
Original Story: Some local high school football games will be played outside the area tonight in hopes of avoiding the smoke.
Sonora High School’s game will be played at Hilmar and Bret Harte High School’s matchup is being moved to Escalon.
Meanwhile, Summerville is still traveling to Bradshaw Christian this evening and Calaveras High is heading to Modesto Christian.
