Chinese Camp, CA –CAL Fire reports there was some damage in Chinese Camp during last weekend’s storms.
A thunderous boom that jarred the evening commute last Friday was heard for miles across the Mother Lode. CAL Fire spokesperson Lisa Williams confirmed Tuesday that around that time lightning struck the Station 61 Chinese Camp Fire Station building. Although no fire resulted from the strike, Williams says that it knocked out some of the electricity.
The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office reports that it had no other documented reports of other incidents in that area on Friday night.
