Strategic Supervisor Session

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA – Working and communicating effectively will be the focus of a strategic workshop for the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors.

Over the next two days, the board will focus on strengths, opportunities, and characteristics of effective governing.  There will also be sessions with several departments on current issues, emerging trends and strategic needs for the future.  County Administrator Craig Pedro says, “I think there will be a better understanding through that communication between the departments and the board…Out of that will be input that staff will use in bringing items back to the board in regular sessions, on both the five-year plan and also direction on how to go about preparing the fiscal 2015–16 budget.”

The workshop will be held in Sonora at the Old Oak Ranch Conference Center.  Thursday’s meeting starts at 9:15 a.m. and Friday’s begins at 8:45 a.m.  This is the second retreat in three years, according to CAO Pedro, who says the last one was very productive, resulting in the creation of a vision/mission statement for the county and the county’s code of ethics and conduct. Pedro stresses that no board actions will be taken at these meetings.
