Debate Over Chickens Tops Agenda
Sonora, CA — Poultry, the drought, and sidewalks in Jamestown, will be among the discussion at Tuesday’s Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meeting.
The Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the issue of whether to allow residents to raise poultry in parcels zoned R-1. It would impact around 17,000 parcels in the unincorporated region of the county. Â The Tuolumne County Planning Commission recommended last month that poultry only be allowed on R-1 parcels that are over an acre in size.
The County will also vote on whether to award a $713,000 dollar contract to Taylor Backhoe Service Inc. for the Jamestown Sidewalk project. The sidewalk system would notably connect the downtown district with Railtown 1897.
In addition, the Supervisors will vote whether to extend a local State of Emergency in response to the drought.
