Shooting Investigation Continues

Sonora, CA — The California Department of Justice is helping to investigate last night’s shooting in downtown Sonora.
As reported previously, one suspect was killed in the shootout, and there were injuries to a Sonora Police Department Officer and a female in the area. Click here to read the complete story posted last night, detailing the incident.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that the names of those involved have not been released as family members are being notified, and an investigation is ongoing. It is not immediately clear how long Washington Street will be closed, in the area of the crime scene, but a detour is expected to be in place for much of today. We’ll pass along more information as it becomes available.
