Forest Burn Set

Sponsored by:

Stanislaus National Forest, CA – Fire crews plan to spark a prescribed burn for the South Fork Project in the Mi-Wok Ranger District of Stanislaus National Forest next week.  On Wednesday, November 12, crews will begin burning 32 acres near Forest Road 2N63, between the intersection of Forest Road 3N99 and the South Fork Bridge.  The burn could continue into Thursday, November 13.

Forest Service officials say residents and motorists on Highway 108 may see smoke on the burn days and residual smoke for one to two weeks after the burn.  There will also be traffic controls along South Fork Road during the fire.  The Forest Service advises the public to drive defensively, as they say there is a small possibility of debris rolling off the hillside and into the roadway.
