Sonora, CA – Tuolumne County Emergency officials want the public to know, you do not have to be afraid to report a dried up ground well.
“We will not red tag your home and child welfare will not get involved, that is not our intent at all for people to come forward,” says Tracie Riggs, Coordinator for the Tuolumne County Office of Emergency Services.
Riggs wants residents to know that in September, Governor Jerry Brown signed an executive order that gives local governments resources to bring temporary water supplies into people who do not have running water due to the drought.
“That source can be a temporary water tank with plumbing and we will keep filling the tank until the ground water well is recharged,” says Riggs.
