Sonora, CA — Those are a couple of the items that will be taken up by the Tuolumne County Supervisors on Tuesday.

The Board will vote whether to issue a Conditional Use Permit for an existing shooting range in the 10000 block of La Grange Road. The applicants are Timothy and Joan Diestel.

The Supervisors will also vote on a 7% salary hike for elected county officials. Most county employees will start paying a 6.25% contribution towards CALPERS retirement benefits, and there would be a corresponding 7% salary increase. The Board Of Supervisors annual salary would increase by just over $2,600 to $39,814. The Assessor/Recorder’s salary would increase to $113,299, Clerk/Auditor/Controller to $118,289, Treasurer/Tax Collector to $103,755, District Attorney to $128,767, and the Sheriff to $118,676.

The County will also vote on asking Senator Tom Berryhill and Assmemblyman Frank Bigelow to author legislation that would help Tuolumne County receive unused AB 900 jail funding. In August, Amador County relinquished $22.7 million in AB 900 grant money, and Tuolumne County is hoping to receive a sizeable chunk.

Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am in the Board of Supervisors meeting room.
