Economic Development Seat Open

Sonora, CA – An at-large seat is open on the Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority (TCEDA).  TCEDA is a joint effort between the City of Sonora and Tuolumne County to attract, grow and retain business.

Director Larry Cope says they are looking for, “Someone who has some type of business or community experience. People who have experience in public type positions, in other words, may be they volunteer on another board in the community, but have a general interest in the future of Tuolumne County where it comes to economic development and has a passion for making the county even a better place to live.”

The TCEDA board has seven seats made up of two Sonora City Council members, Bill Canning and George Segarini, and two Tuolumne County Supervisors, John Gray and Evan Royce. The board appoints three at-large positions from the community. Patricia Jones currently holds the seat that is opening. She can re-apply for the position.  The board will interview all candidates and make the final decision.  The deadline to submit an application is Thursday, October 2 at 4 p.m. at the Authority Office at 99 North Washington Street in Sonora.
