A variety of events are happening in the Mother Lode this Valentine’s and Presidents’ Day Holiday Weekend.

Railtown 1897 is hosting “Roundhouse Day” from 10:00am to 4:00pm this Saturday. There will be activity in and around the shops, and visitors can see what happens during the winter months to prepare the locomotives and cars for the operating season. The event listing is here.

The Summerville High School Journalism Valentine’s Banquet and Family Dinner will be held at the Summerville High School Cafeteria and Theater. For details on the two fundraisers view the Summerville event listing here.

The Sonora High Ag. Booster’s Annual Fundraising Dinner is also Saturday at the Posse Grounds.
They will be celebrating National FFA Week February 15 – 22, 2014. Details and ticket information are in the event listing.

Saturday there is a Murder Mystery Dinner fundraiser to benefit Tuolumne County Arts Alliance and Footlight Theatre. Featuring “The Curse of the Nugget of Love” the dinner will be held in Angelo’s Hall in Columbia State Historic Park. For ticket information view the Murder Mystery Event Listing.

Saturday there is also an AMA Crab Feed at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. Details are here.

The Sunshine Ladies of the Jamestown United Methodist Church will hold their annual President’s Day soup lunch and sale. The main sale items will be homemade chicken noodle, clam chowder, and vegetable soups plus baked goods and books. The Sunshine Ladies’ support ATCCA & Interfaith. Sunday is the Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee Donkey Basketball, starting at 3pm in the Tuolumne Memorial Hall. The family friendly fund raiser for the Lumber Jubilee features six teams playing basketball while riding donkeys. The teams playing represent the CHP, Tuolumne county Ambulance, Tuolumne County Sheriffs, Summerville High Staff, Sonora High Staff, and The Mountain Derby Girls. The event listing is here.

To wrap up the weekend of events there is a “Valentine Villain Visits A 60s Love Fest” Mystery Dinner at the Mountain Ranch Community Club Hall. The Sunday event is sponsored by the Mountain Ranch Youth Alliance and Mountain Ranch Community Club. Come dressed in your finest tie-dye or 60s attire. Get tickets now, none sold at the door.
