Sonora. CA — Some Photographers have been recognized for their picture perfect photos. The Central Sierra Arts Council’s has awarded its top picks in the 27th Annual “InFocus Photography Competition and Exhibition”.

Here are this year’s winners:

  • Best of Show: Christine Oliver, La Habana, El Cuba
  • Charles Moore Excellence in Photography: Rebecca Harvey, In the Mud

Color:

  • First Place – Eric Bjerke, Luggage Claim
  • 2nd Place – Rebecca Harvey, Fishing Boat
  • 3rd Place – Michael Ryan, The Light Show

Honorable Mentions Color:

  • Forrest Cornwall, Exterior of EMP Museum, Seattle, WA
  • Jay Power, Kona Christmas Dancers

Judges Choice Awards:

The winners will take home these prizes:

  • Charles Moore Excellence in Photography: $250 and trophy
  • Best of Show: $500 and ribbon
  • First Place in each category: $300 and ribbon
  • Second Place in each category: 200 and ribbon
  • Third Place in each category: $100 and ribbon
  • Judges Choice and Honorable Mention: ribbons

There is also an added treat, running until February 15 the Alliance is featuring a re-creation of Charles Moore’s Studio and his photos of the civil rights era struggle. The exhibition is at Stage 3 Theater on 208 South Green Street in Sonora. It will only be opened during box office hours.
