Tuolumne County — Tuolumne County Public Health reports no new cases today. A total of eight cases are isolating including one who is hospitalized. Tuolumne County has a total of 4,179 cases split between 2,762 community cases and 1,417 Sierra Conservation Center (SCC) inmate cases, the California Department of Corrections reports no active cases. Total community cases released from isolation is 2,685 and the total number of tests administered is 99,737. The county reports 20,073 fully vaccinated residents and 3,589 individuals partially vaccinated.

Tuolumne public health shares that masking guidance for members of the general public has been updated by the state to align with CDC guidelines and will be effective June 15, 2021. The updated guidance can be viewed at: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/guidance-for-face-coverings.aspx.

Highlights:

  • Masks are not required for fully vaccinated individuals except in the following settings where masks are required for everyone regardless of vaccination status: on public transit, transportation hubs, indoors in K-12 schools, childcare, and other youth settings, healthcare settings including long-term care facilities, homeless shelters, and cooling centers.
  • Masks are required for unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings and businesses. When people who are not fully vaccinated wear a mask correctly, they protect others as well as themselves. Consistent and correct mask use by people who are not fully vaccinated is especially important indoors.
  • In settings where masks are required for unvaccinated individuals, businesses, venues, operators, or hosts may choose to provide information to all patrons regarding vaccination requirements and allow vaccinated individuals to self-attest that they are in compliance prior to entry, implement vaccine verification, or require all patrons to wear a mask.
  • No person can be prevented from wearing a mask as a condition of participation in an activity or entry into a business.

Workplace masking rules are being discussed as detailed here.
